Brett here. When we got married we decided together that we were going to make it a priority to always pay our tithing. After all, the Lord says He will bless us if we do, and who wouldn’t want blessings from God?! With one year of marriage under our belt, we moved from Springfield to Independence, and Nannette and I realized that we really needed some more summer clothes. However, with me not really having a job when we first moved to Independence, I wasn’t sure when we’d be able to get any. We traveled back down to Springfield to finish up my Interactive DVD course that I’ve been working on because they had some assets that I had been waiting on to get finished. While I went to work, Nannette went around to various stores to look around. Here’s where the awesome blessing starts! We’ve had this frying pan in the trunk of our car that we had received for our wedding, and Nannette took it into Kohl’s to return it. She had never used it for cooking because it was very heavy and made her arm “feel like it was going to fall off.” The refund on that skillet was over $80. We then used that money to get some new shorts and shirts and now we have plenty of clothes for this summer! When Nannette called me and told me, all I could say was “Wow, the Lord sure blessed us with that!” I had no idea that pan was worth that much! It just reminds me of that scripture in Matthew 6:28, 32-33, about taking no thought for the tomorrow, for what we will wear because God will provide for us. God clothed us with a frying pan and if he can do that, then I think he can just about do anything!
