In the doorway of our first home together in Springfield, MO. July 2008

A month or so before we got married Nannette and I went all around Springfield for an apartment to make our first home in.  We kept coming back whenever we had a day to spare.  A lot of the places didn’t seem to be in a safe place, or very well kept.  We prayed a lot and eventually found a nice little studio apartment that was newer, clean, and in a great location to our University.  We payed the down payment and got everything all set to move in after I started my job with the University.  We had our amazing wedding, got back from our honeymoon and were helping my parents with a youth camp.  Then a week before we were supposed to move into our apartment I got a call from the manager.  He said that I needed to call him about our apartment so I did.  I just prayed that everything would be fine and we wouldn’t have to go off looking for another place and that we would even have a place since I had to be down there to work!  I called him back and he said that we wouldn’t be able to move into the apartment because the person before us had left a big mess and they hadn’t been able to get it up to their standards.  Since the apartment we were going to move into wasn’t ready the manager had us transferred to an even newer property with a bigger studio apartment and even though the prices were higher there, we got it for the same price we would have been paying originally!

My dad took these pictures on his cell phone, so they are super blurry.
